Sarajevo fest to screen Iranian award-winning ‘A Hero’

Iranian award-winning movie ‘A Hero’ is to be screened at the 2021 Sarajevo Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Iranian award winner ‘A Hero’ has been selected to be screened at the 27th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Directed by Iranian well-known director Asghar Farhadi, ‘A Hero’ tells the story of Rahim, a working-class man separated from his first wife, with whom he has a stuttering young son, who has spent three years incarcerated for defaulting on a debt, but is given leave for two days, during which he tries to turn around his fortunes, but quickly finds himself caught in a web of white lies.

The film stars actors such as Mohsen Tanabandeh and Amir Jadidi.

The 74th Cannes Film Festival Grand Prix to ‘A Hero’ from Iran and ‘Compartment No. 6’ by Juho Kuosmanen from Finland on July.

According to the SFF website, “Towards the end of the four-year siege of Sarajevo, in 1995, Obala Art Centar initiated the Sarajevo Film Festival with the aim of helping to reconstruct civil society and retain the cosmopolitan spirit of the city”.

The festival schedules films from around the world to go on screen and provides a place for filmmakers to share experience.

The upcoming edition of the SFF will be held on August 13-20, 2021.
